Primary Contributions on Five Nights at Freddy's : Help Wanted 2
Purpose of Food Prep Mini Games
For these food prep mini games, we wanted the player to experiences life as an fast food worker. During initial prototype, we spent time talking about our worst experiences like unexpecting food rushes or combinations of sauces on foods to create different unique orders. We wanted the reaction of any player that plays through these mini games to experience what life could be like if the player was an Fazbear employee serving food.
Design Process for Food Prep (El Chips)
The goal for El Chips was to teach the player the mechanics of food prep. The morning rush was designed to give the player enough time to grasp how to cook the main dish and serve the side dishes. The noon rush follow the same gameplay goal as the previous rush but added drinks instead of side dishes and sauce to the main dish. The afternoon and evening rush items per order increased from 2 items to 3 items with all main, side dishes and drinks available to be selected for an order. This allow the player to see all of the order types from previous rushes into to these later rushes.

All time limit for each rush were created to reflect the pressure the player would experience in a fast food setting. While the player is working on their current order, an alarm will trigger that would allow a STAFF bot to line up behind the current staff bot that is awaiting their order. The player would see this line starting to form and feel a sense of pressure to quickly complete the order before the timer runs out.

Design Process for Food Prep (Pizza Pizza Pizza)
Coming from El chips, we notice that the player understand how these mechanics work and what the expectations is to complete them. For Pizza, Pizza, Pizza, we wanted to change the steps and add a little complexity to complete the order.

During prototyping phase, we designed the simple yet tedious steps the player would need to complete to make a pizza and pizzarito. We started adding steps like hitting the dough with a dough roller to flatten the dough and placing the pizza inside a pizza roller for a pizzarito. We simplify the side dishes from 3 to 1 to keep the difficulty focus on making the main dish whether it is pizza, salad or pizzarito.

While the player is completing each rush, the amount of items is increasing along with the time limit. We decided through play testing that slowing increasing the time limit along with the items per order helps increase the pressure of completing the orders without no mistakes.

Design Process for Food Prep (Fazbear Theater)
In Fazbear theater, our goal was to have a wide variety of items that an order can have while the player has to manage the threat that is coming to them. We wanted the player to balance the process of completing the order and scaring off the threat.

Throughout the process of designing this level, we wanted to look at the speed at which the Endo is coming at the player. We knew we wanted a crazy amount of items and combinations that the player has to figure out but we didn't want to mentally overload the player. We decided to follow the same process as previous levels in food prep and used the first couple of rushes as teaching rounds to show the player the combinations of foods that this level has. Once the player has start progression to the later rushes, we introduce Endo moving towards the player while the player is not looking to add another layer of intensity to complete the orders.
